Storyboarding Images

STEP 1

Download Your Images:

  1. Go to link
  2. Right-click on your folder
  3. Click Download

STEP 2

Move Your Images:

  1. Click on the download that popped up at the bottom of your screen
  2. Drag the folder that pops up into your network drive
  3. Open your network drive, then move it to your Digital Media Folder
  4. Open the Digital Media folder & move it into a new folder called "Storyboarding Project"
  5. Open the Storyboarding Project folder, then the folder inside, and you'll see your scanned images

STEP 3

Open Your First Image:

  1. Right-Click on Image 01
  2. Go to Open With > Adobe Photoshop

STEP 4

Select a Frame:

  1. Click the rectangular selection tool
  2. At the top, change Style to Fixed Size
  3. Change the dimensions next to fixed size to Width: 2900 + Height: 1600
  4. Click anywhere on the image
  5. Click in the box and drag it so it encloses your first frame
  6. Press Cmd+C to copy it

STEP 5

Straighten:

  1. If your image isn't straight, click Image > Rotation > Arbitrary
  2. Change the number by a very small amount, such as .5 or 1. Make sure it rotates the direction you need.
  3. If it's too much or too little, Use Cmd-Z and try again.

STEP 6

Save:

  1. Click File > New
  2. Make sure Clipboard is selected under Your Recent Items
  3. Click Create
  4. Press Cmd+V to paste your image
  5. Go to File > Save
  6. Choose:
    1. Format: PNG
    2. Name it: Frame ___ (put the frame number in the blank)
    3. Select your Storyboarding Project folder to save it in
    4. Leave the rest alone
    5. Click Save
    6. Make sure Large File Size is selected & press OK

STEP 7

Editing (OPTIONAL)

You can do these three things to edit your image. All are OPTIONAL:

  1. Adjust the brightness / contrast
  2. Use the eraser to erase lines
  3. Add opaque color

STEP 8

Brightness/Contrast (OPTIONAL)

  1. Click on the contrast & brightness tool
  2. Adjust the two sliders until you're happy

STEP 9

Eraser (OPTIONAL)

  1. Select the eraser tool
  2. Adjust the size
  3. Zoom in/out of your image using Cmd + and Cmd -
  4. Erase bits you don't want

STEP 10

Color (OPTIONAL)

  1. Select the paintbrush tool
  2. Change the paintbrush size to what you want & the Hardness to 100%
  3. Change the Opacity to 20%
  4. Create a new Layer & make sure you're on it
  5. Select the color you want
  6. Paint away! Try to do each section in one click so the color stays consistent
  7. Press Cmd+Z when you make a mistake

STEP 11

Save

  1. Finish any other edits you want to make
  2. When done, go to File > Save

STEP 12

Repeat Steps 4-11 for Each Frame
